Egy olyan cég, amelyik a működése elején mindenbe belekezd, lehet, hogy rövid távon túléli, sőt talán még jobb bevételeket is könyvelhet el, mint egy „fa”, vagyis egy olyan cég, amely egyetlen irányban halad, egy dologgal foglalkozik. De egy „fa” vállalatnak van fókusza, van célja, van növekedési iránya, és az nem oldalra van, hanem felfelé.
